I wonder if these edition-specific Watch faces that Apple creates with Nike, Hermes, etc. are partly why third-party faces haven't happened yet. 😔
@chartier I've been talking with friends about this and we came to that conclusion. It allows Apple + Partners to make special versions of the watch by creating a new watch face.
@fahrni @chartier I'm sure that's a factor, but I'm also sure Apple doesn't want arbitrary faces out in the wild. I feel we were only begrudgingly granted background/lock screens. :)
@tewha @chartier Assuming Apple allowed it, they'd be the gatekeeper to allowing them on the store, just like they are with apps. If they didn't feel it was up to par they could tell the developer to go back to the drawing board.
